Why complete the ACP
- See the movement of God across Texas and beyond - The ACP helps us know what is going on all over the state. This helps us see what is going on in the life of the churches.
- Help churches offset declines in attendance, giving, professions of faith, baptisms, etc. - Some pastors and church leaders may not want to turn in declining numbers, but those trends can help us provide useful resources and assist churches in specific and tangible ways.
- Help churches with historical records - Having a third party ask questions and maintain a historical church profile makes it easier for everyone to look objectively at the health of a church, association or convention at a given time.
- Help pastors make decisions in view of a call - The church profile often equips pastors with relevant data during their decision-making process when called to a particular congregation. A 10-year profile provides a helpful snapshot of key church metrics.
- Determine messenger representation - Messengers to state and national conventions are calculated using the worship attendance and giving, which come from a church’s ACP.
- Determine Executive Board representation - Texas Baptist sectors and board representation are also determined by worship attendance data which comes from the ACP.
